About Me
Hi there! My name is Joachim Coppens. I'm 22 years old
and love all things media, creativity and fun.
In 2010, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Multimedia Production. And right now, I'm studying Digital Arts and Entertainment as an aspiring Game Developer.
Feel free to look around here and contact me. This site features some of my best personal and school-related work from the past few years. Enjoy!

A high detail, low poly, game-ready version of the DeHavilland Otter DHC-3 Otter seaplane. Created in 3ds Max, rendered in UDK.
-

Design process for a peaceful recon robot for any environment. This is M.A.R.S. One, a smart robot deployed on the first missions to mars. Meet the Mobile All-Terrain Recon Station.
-
Low poly city scene - Sevilla, Spain
A fictional representation of 25m x 25m of Sevilla, Spain.
-
Board game - Komo Mai Island
An intriguing board game that determines your personality type as you play through a shipwreck survivor campaign with 3 to 5 players. I, among other things, made the playing cards and did some general design stuff.
-
Bachelor thesis project - Astro Quest
Some screenshots for the physics/Wii Flash game we I did with Andreas D'Hollandere.
-
Internship Flash project - Schattenjacht
A Flash game I helped program during my internship at Playlane, for Carrefour and Disney's pin action. The objective is to fly your zeppelin over a huge landscape and collect pins according to your current objective. The game ended up getting hundreds of thousands of plays during a three month period in 2010. It was also the biggest project during my time there.
-
Internship at Playlane - various projects
During my internship and summer job at Playlane, I worked on a few educational projects teaching children math and spelling. I also did a lot of image editing for the games in their Fundels books, and helped out on a project for a tv shows online flash game 'De Premiejagers'.
-
Educational Flash game - Knights & Maidens
A game designed specifically for children ages 3 to 5, to be played with their kindergarten teachers. The game is still being enjoyed in several classes. This was a really fun project in my final year of Multimedia production, made with Sten Van Den Bergh and Laurens Peeters. Thanks to our clients as well, who also did the voice acting: Lara D'hondt and Bram Strobbe.

A selection of photographs
Some older work dating back to about 2006 to 2009. In my spare time and mostly on holiday, I like to take photographs. These are a few that I think are pretty cool.
